Our very well established manufacturing clients located in Eastern CT area has an immediate need for a qualified Machine Maintenance/Millwright Technicians. The following is a brief outline of skills required for the positions. The qualified candidates will also have working experience of most tool room equipment.
Machinery Maintenance/Millwright Technician

The Machinery Maintenance Tech will reassemble machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work.

The Machinery Maintenance Tech will start machines and observes mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect problems.

The Machinery Maintenance Tech will inspect or test damaged machine parts, and mark defective areas or advise supervisors of repair needs.

The Machinery Maintenance tech will lubricate or apply adhesives or other materials to machines, machine parts, or other equipment, according to specified procedures.

The Machinery Maintenance Tech will install, replace, or change machines parts and attachments, according to production specifications.

The Machinery Maintenance Tech will dismantle machines and remove parts for repair, using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, or hoists.

The Machinery Maintenance Tech will record production, repair, and machine maintenance information.

The Machinery Maintenance Tech will read work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance.

The Machinery Maintenance Tech will set up and operate machines, and adjust controls to regulate operators.

The Machinery Maintenance Tech will collaborate with other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts, or equipment.

The Machinery Maintenance Tech will need knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.

The Machinery Maintenance Tech need knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

Perform basic to advanced troubleshooting of equipment mechanical issues.

Describe the basic operating concepts and fundamentals of the major factory systems.

Interpret and apply technical codes.

Interpret and revise equipment, hydraulic, and piping drawings, blueprints, and schematics.

Install and troubleshoot bearings, seals, and gaskets.

Install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot equipment generally classified as mechanical power transmission including gearboxes/drives, transmissions, conveyors (belt, scroll, bucket), and rollers.

Install, troubleshoot, and align shafts and couplings (laser and dial alignment).

Install and align trunions for large rotating equipment (including requisite rigging)

Fabricate and install tubing and piping systems, including fittings, manufactured from various materials.

Install, maintain, rebuild, replace, and troubleshoot valves, centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, and mechanical seals.

Maintain and troubleshoot pneumatic (vacuum) systems including air compressors and air handling units.

Maintain and troubleshoot hydraulic systems.

Maintain, repair, and replace fans and blowers including airlocks (rotary valves).
